Nikolai Pokhilenko, a geologist, told socialbites.ca that the actor Nikita Kologrivoy, who wants to make a film about him, is acting like a fool by taking center stage in a bar scuffle in Novosibirsk. Pokhilenko also noted that the idea of a geology-themed movie is promising because it could spark interest in the profession among young people.
“Someone mentioned me. He has a concept for a feature-length adventure film. He heard that I helped locate diamond deposits in Yakutia and that I participated in revealing a diamond field in Arkhangelsk, Canada. He offered to make a film about me. He suggested there wasn’t much need to focus on my daily life,” Pokhilenko explained. He added that while there may not be high demand for geology right now, a film that captures young audiences could change that. Kologrivoy seemed to insist on preparing material to tell a compelling story, but Pokhilenko said he didn’t have much time and suggested digitizing old photos for use. He also remarked that he didn’t know about the bar fight and dismissed Kologrivoy as a young, ambitious celebrity. “He’s not even 30 yet,” the scientist stated.
Pokhilenko described the actor’s conduct in their meetings as generally appropriate and said Kologrivoy spoke with interest. If Pokhilenko were to be the actor’s father, he joked, he would have disciplined him for the rowdy behavior.
“The idea to draw attention to geology in some way is worthwhile. I’ve spent my life in this field. Now it seems few people are working in it. To attract talent, we need to show that the profession is engaging and provides opportunities for young people to prove themselves. The concept is appealing, but the criticism stems from the feeling that the actor is making a spectacle rather than collaborating as a potential family-like mentor would. I’m not his father, and I certainly wouldn’t claim to be,” he added. He noted that he had met Kologrivoy only twice, during which they talked. The young man appeared bright-eyed and evidently passionate about his work, though the conversation left Pokhilenko with the impression that star power had momentarily overwhelmed judgment. He concluded that time would reveal more about the situation.
On March 20, authorities in Novosibirsk disclosed that the police reviewed Kologrivy’s actions in a city bar. Paragraf reported that a formal complaint was filed by staff against the star of the TV series The Boy’s Word, alleging boorish behavior on the night of March 19. According to the report, he harassed waitstaff and assaulted a restaurant employee who refused his request to approach further, and he allegedly bit one person in the course of the incident.
Subsequently, an Administrative protocol was issued under a charge of petty hooliganism. He faces a potential fine ranging from five hundred to one thousand rubles or up to fifteen days of administrative detention. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Novosibirsk region stated that Kologrivy would be held in a special detention center pending court proceedings.
Earlier, at a press conference for the Family Traditions film festival, Kologrivoy announced an intention to produce a film about geologist Nikolai Pokhilenko. Reports from Aif.ru indicate that a project centered on scientists would be filmed in Novosibirsk, with a production company expected to set up in Akadempark and script work already underway.
In a separate note, it was mentioned that Kologrivoy’s teacher referred to the actor who instigated the drunken altercation as a large, impulsive figure, underscoring the contrast between public image and the real person behind it.
