The frame featuring actress Ekaterina Varnava was cut from the latest teaser for the TV series Cicadas. A Telegram channel flagged this omission, calling the series a cult Russian production.
In a video posted on the YouTube channel The Movie Call in August, the character Barnabas speaks the line, “I hate you.” The video remains private and is accessible only via a specific link. Kinopoisk’s own site notes that the scene is not part of the teaser trailer, and Barnabas is not listed in the official cast for the series.
At the start of October, the same Telegram channel suggested that the premiere of the show Crazy was delayed by Kion due to Ekaterina Barnabas’s involvement.
On February 24, 2022, Barnabas reportedly spoke against SVO, but the post was later deleted.
