Valencia-based advertising agency WeAddYou hosted the XIII Ordinary Regional Assembly, a landmark gathering organized by the Association of Communication Managers of the Community of Valencia and Region of Murcia, DircomCVM. In line with the agenda, the Assembly reviewed and approved the financial report, the 2021 liquidation following the audit, and the proposed budget for the current year.
During the management report, the chairwoman, Esther Castellano, highlighted the association’s expanding membership, which has grown around 12% over the past two years. She noted the addition of Dircoms from prominent companies to the roster, including firms like Deloitte, Importaco, Alonso Group, Atrevía, Verne Group, À Punt, Balearia, Aguas de Alicante, and Port Castellò. Castellano reaffirmed a commitment to supporting and serving members, fostering collaborations with governments, companies, and media to generate synergies. These commitments outline DircomCVM’s strategic lines of action and activities.

Agreements and collaborations
In the segment on collaborations, Castellano described ongoing work with Jaume I Castellón University (UJI), the Alicante Provincial Council, the Valencian Community Business Confederation (CEV), and the Valencian Chamber of Commerce, among others. She also highlighted a recent agreement with the Association for the Advancement of Management (APD), the District of Alicante, and the Generalitat Valenciana to host the I Conference on Communications and SMEs in the upcoming autumn.
Balance and forecast
The DircomCVM leader explained that a busy calendar of events and meetings had accelerated association activities in the first half of 2022, noting that high-level programs were held across the four major cities in the region. Castellano added that the aim is to remain useful across the regional footprint, emphasizing the need for close cooperation and familiarity with partners across the area.
She also cited a series of upcoming industry sessions in ICT, tourism, and health that took place in Alicante; the Brands and Sports Conference in Valencia; and MedCom, a major annual event for communication professionals. A recent visit to Port Castelló was mentioned as part of ongoing engagement. Looking ahead, professional development remains a central focus, with plans for the DircomCVM conference on Communications and SMEs, organized in collaboration with the Generalitat Valenciana, the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, and CEV. Castellano outlined several anticipated events by year-end, including a media roundtable in Murcia, the communications and sports conference with UJI and GVA in Castellón, and exploratory visits to Castellón airport, EUIPO, and the Shoe Technological Center (INESCOP). Other planned stops include the Institute for Children’s Products and Entertainment Technologies (AIJU) in Alicante and Baleària’s fast-ferry routes to Eleanora Roosevelt, representing ongoing industry outreach across the Valencian Community.
Communication and professional development
Concluding the session, Dircom partners participated in a self-leadership workshop titled How to accelerate your professional career, led by José Manuel Velasco.
