Animation project directors participate in workshops held across the week. Arly Jones and Sami Natsheh, founders of the Alicante based animation studio Flying Head, bring a wealth of experience with more than thirteen international awards to the table. They have earned nominations for prestigious recognitions such as the Goya Awards for their short animated film Colors released in 2017. Juan de Dios Navarro, who oversees cultural affairs, attended one of the sessions alongside David Seva, the project lead who guides this initiative through all stages of development.

Digital Movement explores how movement breathes life into drawings, turning still images into dynamic performances. The workshops also cover Pixilation, a technique that captures real people by altering their movements frame by frame, and the craft of rotoscoping, where live action is traced to create fluid, cinematic motion. The focus throughout these sessions is on animation film technique, a method that invites artists to redraw a frame by referencing another, producing a seamless flow from one shot to the next. The program embraces experimental forms of animation, encouraging participants to push boundaries and experiment with material in fresh, unexpected ways. A distinctive emphasis is placed on how movement can reveal character, mood, and narrative in ways that dialogue alone cannot convey. The ensemble of instructors and mentors guides each student through practical exercises, demonstrations, and collaborative mini-projects that culminate in a short sequence by Friday, September 29, demonstrating the techniques learned and the personal voice each participant has developed.
