Three organizations backed by the Institut Valencià de la Joventut unite once again for a yearly initiative aimed at condemning gender-based violence within the 25N framework. This event, now well established in Alicante, spotlights the Coñonudo festival as a loudspeaker for the voices of the entire community and a bold stand by Alicante’s youth against gender-based violence. The fourth edition keeps its core idea intact, including a multilingual poetry recital and a stand-up monologue performed by Nadin Din during an open microphone session. The festival also resumes concerts and welcomes the rising Alicante singer Inés Domínguez, who will perform a program of songs celebrating the city, scheduled for Friday evening at Regus-İş Dünyası on November 24 at 20:00, in Alicante’s Perfect Fountain Palace area.

Entrance to the poetry recital, monologue, and concert is free. Invitations are available through the Enterticket platform, and this year the organizers increased capacity, launching 80 invitations to accommodate more attendees. The festival has become a staple of the 25N agenda in Alicante, with organizers stressing that arts and culture play a crucial role in conveying messages about youth participation in local life and the collective effort to prevent gender violence.

In addition to performances, two free workshops will be held on the morning of November 25. A creative writing and poetry workshop led by Laura Sánchez and a T-shirt and bag printing workshop led by Alicante artist Tabata Díaz Savall will start at 10 a.m. To avoid crowding, both sessions run concurrently at the Regus-Business World Alicante building, which has limited capacity. Free registration is available on Enterticket.

On the evening of November 24, Alicante musician Inés Domínguez will perform, adding a strong local voice to the program. The event emphasizes the ongoing collaboration of the organizing bodies to strengthen this project on the eve of 25N, with support from Ivaj and in line with international efforts to eliminate violence against women.

Open the microphone

The festival once again opens its microphones to the Alicante community. Attendees at the poetry day on Friday, November 24, will have the chance to take the stage in the open mic session. Participants may read their own verses or those of other authors, share how literature has shaped their lives, or recount experiences in challenging moments within a safe space.

Languages will be available during the Coñonudo session thanks to Aripi association volunteers who will read and translate works for the audience. The Regus conference hall will feature Spanish, Romanian, French, English, and Valencian readings. The event organizers emphasize that multilingual participation is open to anyone stepping onto the stage, aiming to deliver a global message that resonates beyond borders.

Humor also plays a role in this edition, serving as a vehicle to highlight and condemn discriminatory norms. Stand-up comedian Nadin Din returns to the stage to deliver a monologue that questions sexist attitudes and champions women’s empowerment and a more equal society.
