Between strings and bones
An inventive collaboration from Granada brings together Daniel Donna and the troupe DDCdanza. This project offers an alternative reading of Spain’s history through a feminist, inclusive, and cohesive lens. Between strings and bones blends movement and storytelling in a way that invites audiences to reflect on memory and resilience.
Produced as a co-production with Madrid’s Teatros del Canal, the show premiered in 2021. It unsettles recent historical memory, turning pain, fear, and tragedy into a chorus of freedom. Between strings and bones stands as both a condemnation and a piece of poetic justice, captured through avant-garde dance that moves gracefully between tradition and modernity.

The script explores an extramarital entanglement while the looming shadows of political turmoil complicate every scene, as the fear of retaliation grows in a world on the brink.
