Benidorm Fest 2024: Dates, Venue, and Regional Impact

On Sunday, Nuria Montes, the Minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism, celebrated the kickoff of the upcoming Benidorm Fest edition. The event is scheduled from January 30 to February 3, 2024, at Palau d’Esports l’Illa, a key moment highlighted by this publication.

Montes expressed anticipation for what she called possibly the best Benidorm Fest edition yet, noting that it will reinforce one of the Community’s major tourism promotion events. The festival will light up the tourism hub again next year, she explained, signaling a crucial boost for regional visibility and visitor interest.

The preparation begins this Saturday with the selection of 16 participating candidates. Among them, three hail from Alicante, underscoring the festival’s strong local ties. This popular event gathers millions of fans across Spain and Europe, helping to elevate both the Benidorm and Valencian Community brands to a nearly year‑round profile. The festival’s momentum also reaches into the 68th Eurovision Song Contest, where the winner of Benidorm Fest will have the chance to represent Spain on the international stage.

The Valencian Government’s involvement was described as significant. A contribution of 1.5 million euros will support bringing this edition to life. In addition to the main shows, a series of supplementary events is planned to further broaden the celebration’s reach, reinforcing Benidorm Fest as a must‑watch moment for Eurofans around the world.

Earlier, RTVE reported from Seville that the Latin Grammys will host the selection process. Sixteen soloists and four groups with diverse musical backgrounds were chosen to take part in Benidorm Fest’s new edition. The selection was conducted by a cross‑disciplinary team of professionals from the network who evaluated 825 proposal submissions received through an online form.

Benidorm Fest returns for a third consecutive year after expanding its format to achieve more than 100 million views across social networks. In the previous two editions, the grand finale drew around three million viewers. Montes reiterated her aim to deliver the best Benidorm Festival in history next year and to solidify it as a cornerstone of the promotional strategy for the Ministry and the Government led by Carlos Mazón.
