Attorney Details Case Involving Actress’ Wife Over Channel One Incident

On March 13, prosecutors opened a criminal case involving Larisa Polizeimako, the wife of Russian actor Mikhail Polizeimako, in connection with an incident involving former Channel One employee Liliya Fedorova. The victim spoke with socialbites.ca about the case, stating that Polizeimako humiliated him and undermined his dignity through their conduct.

According to the journalist, the encounter in a stairwell included actions that he says caused not only physical harm but also deep moral harm. He emphasized the need for justice and for his personal and professional integrity to be respected. He described his aim as a warning to individuals who abuse authority or disregard the laws of the country. He asserted that every citizen has recourse within the legal system to address grievances and that public humiliation is unacceptable in any setting.

The criminal case against Larisa Polizeimako was initially opened in May 2022. The journalist later indicated that, on December 27, 2023, the case was reclassified due to insufficient evidence and ultimately closed because the statute of limitations had expired. He learned of this development in January of the current year.

He explained that authorities acknowledged some aspects of guilt, but the reclassification occurred because there was not enough proof that he was present on the set of Channel One at the relevant time. An official letter from the channel confirming his participation in filming was deemed insufficient for the investigation. He noted that he was not acquainted with additional materials that surfaced in the case and was not informed about its termination.

The journalist emphasized that he would not concede and intended to pursue the matter to a definitive resolution. He expressed outrage that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Basmanny District had kept the case open for three years, repeatedly suspending proceedings with what he views as flimsy reasons and violating the permissible time limits. Nonetheless, he maintained confidence in the legitimacy of his demands and announced his intention to take the issue to court. He stressed that every mistake has a name and that he knows who he believes is contributing to delays, attempting to stall the process, or failing to act impartially. He concluded with a call for the law to adjudicate fairly and to assign punishment commensurate with the crime as determined by the courts.

Media reports indicate that Larisa Polizeimako confronted a Channel One employee when the film crew visited their home in 2021 to cover a dispute involving the actor’s family and an 85-year-old writer, Valentin Lavrov. It was noted that Polizeimako began beating journalist Liliya Fedorova during interactions with the press and caused a nerve injury affecting the muscle. The Mash Telegram channel reported in June 2022 that a criminal case had been filed against Polizeimako. Fedorova later told socialbites.ca that the actor sought a form of punishment through community service for his wife.

Following the initiation of the case in 2022, Polizeimako stated that she was prepared to respond to what she described as false accusations in court, signaling readiness to contest the allegations publicly through the judicial process.
