Anton Belyaev
In 2013, during the qualifying round of The Voice, Anton Belyaev performed Wicked Game on piano. All mentors turned for him, and he showed a clear preference for Leonid Agutin. He advanced to the semi-finals on the show.
Following The Voice, Belyaev and his band Therr Maitz began filling large concert halls. In 2015, he received a nomination for GQ magazine’s Man of the Year, and the following year was named among the magazine’s 100 Most Stylish Men.
Later, Belyaev contributed as a composer to the film Ice and launched the LABoratory show featuring guest stars. He also served as a mentor on The Voice and became a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, which presents the Grammy Awards. He teaches at the Moscow Film School as well.
Straw
Shaman, born Yaroslav Dronov, competed in the third season of The Voice, which aired from September 5 to December 26, 2014. He was 22 at the outset and sang You Know during blind auditions, earning a spot on Pelageya’s team, reaching the final and finishing in second place. Before The Voice, he also tried The Factor A, where he reached the finals and placed third.
Between 2017 and 2018, Dronov gained online fame for his covers, including a now-viral rendition of Maxim Fadeev’s Dancing on Glass with over 50 million YouTube views. In 2020, he adopted the stage name Shaman and rose to prominence with patriotic songs such as I’m Russian and Let’s Rise, aligning with regional military events.
In a 2022 interview with kp.ru, he spoke about his aspirations to mentor The Voice, noting that sharing experience with emerging artists would be rewarding.
Yang Ge
During the fall of 2017, Yang Ge appeared on The Voice’s blind auditions with The Beatles’ Come Together, receiving a single notification from Dima Bilan. He advanced to the final and finished in fourth place.
In 2018, Yang Ge released a video for the track Nun and an EP titled Man is not from the Earth. He earned awards at the Moscow International Film Festival for his directorial debut in Nu, and later directed Trinity (2019) and You Can’t Stay Out (2020). In 2023, Yang Ge participated in The Voice of Germany.
Nargiz
Singer Nargiz Zakirova captivated the judges in the second season of The Voice in 2013, performing the Scorpions’ I Still Love You. All four coaches turned, and she finished second in Leonid Agutin’s team.
A year later, Nargiz signed with Maxim Fadeev, and in 2016 they released the collaborative hit Together. In 2019, a contractual dispute led Fadeev to sever ties with Zakirova and her performances were restricted for a period. She later collaborated with Viktor Drobysh. In 2022, Zakirova faced a 50-year ban from visiting the Russian Federation due to the dispute.
Voiced
Hip-hop artist Zvonky, born Andrey Lyskov, exited in the second round of The Voice’s third season. A year later he signed with Velvet Music and released the album The World of My Illusions in 2018. The title track Voices became a hit, and the video has amassed about 62 million views on YouTube.
Anton Tokarev
Anton Tokarev joined Sergei Shnurov’s team in The Voice’s eighth season and finished as a runner-up in the finals. He performed a cover of The Seventh Petal by Hi-Fi during the competition, and the track went on to chart success, earning nominations in 2023. Tokarev performed the song in a packed stadium before a Russian football match and released pieces such as Next to the Stars, Clear Light, Uber, Three Ways, Alive, among others.
Sevara
In 2012, the celebrated Uzbek singer Sevara Nazarkhan appeared on Channel One’s The Voice, joining Anton Agutin’s team and exiting the show after the third stage. After The Voice, she took part in several Russian television programs including Tower, Lunch Time!, The Same, and Dancing with the Stars. In 2013 she released the Russian-language album Letters, followed by the romantic piece It’s Not Me with music by Igor Nikolaev and poetry by Pavel Zhagun in 2014. Olympic figure skaters Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov performed the piece at the Beijing Olympics, and the song was included in the film Cheburashka.
