This Pedagogical Unit Balmis at the Alicante General University Hospital is organizing its second edition in collaboration with more than twenty institutions and companies. A charity parade created by pediatric cancer patients is planned for Saturday, October 1 at 19:00 at Alicante Arena. The event honors Carlos Sarriá in his memory. He was an influential figure from Alicante whose fight against Ewing sarcoma brought attention to the cause through his TikTok channel. The parade marks the first successful event conducted in September 2019 by the Hospital Pedagogy Unit, which continues its mission with this new edition.
Alicante’s TikTok star Charlie dies of cancer
From the Hospital Pedagogy Unit, the decision to carry forward Carlos’s project came after his passing. The goal is to keep the parade alive to honor his memory while shining a light on children and adolescents who are no longer with us, and to give visibility to those currently undergoing treatment and living with cancer every day, according to Marisa Ibáñez, head of the unit.
Presentation of the event is provided under the INFORMATION banner.
The parade blends fashion and hope. It features models from the Balmis Hospital Pediatric Oncology Department walking the runway alongside special guests. Young patients will join the event, sharing the stage with notable supporters and friends from the region. Local influencers and fashion enthusiasts from Alicante will also participate, adding to the energy of the evening. The event will be hosted by Andrea Compton and Alba Rico, who guide the audience through the program with warmth and enthusiasm.

The proceeds from the parade will benefit Aspanion and Payas Hospital, non profit organizations dedicated to meeting the needs of children and their families in the Balmis Hospital Pediatric Oncology department. A portion of the funds will support research into Ewing’s sarcoma, linking fashion, generosity, and scientific advancement.
Details about participation and tickets will follow on the El Corte Inglés platform and at the parade’s coordinating offices in Alicante. Updates will also appear on the department’s social media channels and within the Pedagogical Unit itself.
