More than forty artists from multiple countries participate in the fourth edition of the ALC Videoart Festival, a collaborative video-creation event organized in Alicante. The celebration runs from Wednesday through Monday, May 29, with the newly conceived program anchoring at the Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art, MACA. This year the festival presents 45 works by 43 international authors, showcasing a broad spectrum of approaches to video art.
When people ask what video art is, the answers are layered. It spans experimental cinema, audiovisual installations, digital artworks, and moving images that challenge traditional storytelling. From its earliest moments, the festival has pursued the goal of exploring and sharing the many facets of this contemporary discipline. Since its inception in 2019, the ALC Videoart Festival has established itself as a reference for artists and lovers of video art, promoting diversity and dialogue within the contemporary art world. The festival’s venue in the heart of Alicante has hosted editions in venues such as Las Cigarreras and Los Pozos de Garrigós, creating a platform for the international exhibition of moving-image works and fostering cross-cultural exchange among creators and audiences alike.
