During a casual conversation with actress and TV presenter Agata Muceniece, the topic drifted to a moment from her past when she managed to get into VGIK. She recalled the test process and the nerves that came with audition day.

“I was also asked to sing,” she said. “In that moment I hatched a clever plan. There was a song in Georgian that not many people knew. I sang it, hoping that the committee members either wouldn’t know the lyrics or wouldn’t recognize the melody. I figured there was no point worrying about making a mistake.”

According to Muceniece, the audition also included dancing and reading aloud prose and poetry, in addition to singing. Even after gaining admission, she told the teachers that she hadn’t really found her voice yet. She described how from a young age she dreamed of studying acting and shaping a career in front of the camera.

“When I finished philology school, I lay in bed one night and thought about how I should at least try to get into acting school. If I didn’t, I knew I would regret it for the rest of my life,” she recalled. The preparations for that time were quick and intense, and the experience left a lasting impression.

Earlier in her career, Muceniece had joked about other possibilities, including a fantasy scenario of traveling to space for a shoot. Her ambitions and willingness to take bold steps have been a recurring theme in her journey in the world of acting and entertainment.
