Actor Lee Jong Jae, who starred in Netflix’s hit movie “The Squid Game,” will return as the killer Ray of action thriller “Deliver Us From Evil” in an upcoming spin-off series, Variety reports, citing Korean sources.
Titled “Ray”, the show will focus on the background of Jae’s character. In the movie, Ray hunts down the protagonist, a former intelligence agent who killed his brother.
Ray will also be directed by original director Hong Won Chan. Hong Kyung Pyo, who directed Parasite, Blazing and Snowpiercer, will be the cinematographer.
The spin-off will begin production in 2023. It is not yet known on which platform the series will be broadcast.
