Actor Alec Baldwin said he was concerned for his safety, telling CNN after former President Donald Trump’s comments on the Rust set shooting.
“The former president of the United States said I probably shot him on purpose. It was the only time I was worried for my safety. Trump, who instructed people to commit acts of violence, was pointing my finger at me and talking about my responsibility for death,” he said.
Baldwin noted that Trump instructed “a group of people” to attack the Capitol on January 6, 2021. As a result, Officer Ashley Babitt died after being shot in the chest. He was killed by the Capitol guards. An internal investigation did not reveal any irregularities in the guard’s actions.
“They killed someone and don’t you think some of them will come after me?” – said the player.
On October 21, 2021, on the set of Rust, Alec Baldwin fired a propeller gun loaded with real ammunition, not empty shells. They bumped into two crew members: 42-year-old cinematographer Galina Hutchins and 48-year-old film director Joel Souza. Doctors could not save the operator.
