Then a scammer calling himself Pitt called him, gained his trust, and then asked for money for a supposed cure for lung cancer. Ann said she left her husband because of the intruder.
“It’s appalling that scammers are taking advantage of the strong connections fans have with celebrities. “However, this is an important reminder that you should not respond to these types of online requests, especially from actors who do not use social networks,” Pitt’s representative said.
EW also adds that Anne was bullied online shortly after the incident became public. TF1 channel removed the episode in which the French woman spoke about the incident for the first time. TF1 stated that Anne suffered mental health issues due to bullying.
In September 2024, five Internet fraudsters were arrested in Spain, who posed as Pitt and defrauded two women of 350 thousand dollars (a little more than 36 million rubles).
