Streaming service Netflix has released an anime trailer on YouTube based on “The Witcher” series of novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.
The name of the animated movie is The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. The movie will be released on February 11. The cartoon follows Geralt, a witch from Rivia who is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a seaside village. The hero is then caught in the middle of a centuries-old conflict between humans and merpeople.
The script was written by Mike Ostrovsky and Ray Benjamin, who previously wrote episodes of the Netflix adaptation of Sapkowski’s novel. Sapkowski himself served as creative consultant on the project. Directed by Kang Hee-chul. The cartoon will be his first film.
Actor Doug Cole voiced Geralt, as in the CD Projekt RED games. Anya Chalotra and Joey Baty reprise their roles as Yennefer and Buttercup.
In October 2022, it was learned that Henry Cavill, who played the role of Herald, decided to leave the series due to inconsistencies between the plot of the film adaptation of The Witcher and Andrzej Sapkowski’s books. He was replaced by actor Liam Hemsworth.
Previously the Kremlin To read About plans to make a movie starring Jude Law as Putin.
