The President of the Republic of Dagestan Sergei Melikov signed a decree awarding the title of People’s Artist of the Republic of Dagestan to singer Sarah Shor (Jasmine). This is reported by RIA Novosti.
Yasemin was born in Derbent, Republic of Dagestan. She began her musical career in 1999 with the release of the song “It Happens”. The singer became the Honored Artist of Dagestan in 2009, and the Honored Artist of Russia in 2014.
Jasmine is the winner of nine Golden Gramophone awards; MTV Russia Music Awards and 17 Song of the Year awards.
In 1997, Jasmine gave birth to her first child, Mikhail, from businessman Vyacheslav Semenduev, whom she divorced in 2006. The artist openly accused her ex-husband of domestic violence and asked for his protection.
The artist married millionaire Ilan Shor in 2011; the couple raises two children: 12-year-old daughter Margarita and 7-year-old son Miron. The singer and businessman live in different countries: Jasmine in Russia, and Shor in Israel.
In April 2024, Mikhail Semenduev married former figure skater Eva Khachaturyan.
