American singer Taylor Swift has spoken out for the first time about the cancellation of her recent concerts in Vienna due to the threat of a terrorist attack. On her Instagram account (the owner of the Meta company is known as an extremist in Russia and is banned), she expressed gratitude to the Austrian authorities for preventing a possible tragedy.
In early August, event promoter Barracuda Music announced that three scheduled Swift performances in Vienna had been canceled after law enforcement warned of a possible terrorist attack. The Austrian Interior Ministry reported that a 19-year-old Austrian man suspected of planning an attack during a major event in Vienna was detained in Ternitz; additional arrests were made later that day.
“The cancellation of the concerts in Vienna devastated me. The reason for the cancellation caused me fear and a deep sense of guilt, because so many people were waiting for these performances,” the singer wrote on her page on the occasion of the end of the European leg of her Eras tour.
Swift also contacted Austrian authorities. “Thanks to their actions, we mourned the concerts, not the lives lost,” she said.
Bild publication with reference to Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer statedHe said that those planning a terrorist attack at the Taylor Swift concert found explosives and weapons. According to Nehammer, the police are now uncovering the suspects’ connections to other Islamists. He noted that the technical equipment of the Austrian and German intelligence services needed to be improved in order to combat terrorism – data on the terrorist attack in Austria had to be obtained from the US.
The Chancellor believes that for security reasons it is necessary to give Austrian law enforcement the opportunity to decrypt WhatsApp, Signal and Telegram messengers by court order. He also expressed his hope that Taylor Swift’s concert in Vienna will be postponed to a new date and expressed his desire to attend the show.
Former singer Swift statedthat he plans to make a firm marriage contract with the person he chooses.
