Actress Millie Bobby Brown is working on a film adaptation of her debut novel, The Nineteen Steps. This was reported by Deadline.
The Stranger Things star will produce and also star in the film. The script will be written by four-time Oscar nominee Anthony McCarten, who also worked on “Darkest Hour” with Harry Oldman and Lily James, among other features. The film adaptation will be released on Netflix.
Millie Bobby Brown was inspired by her grandmother to write the novel. The book tells the story of 18-year-old Nellie, who is in London during World War II. She tries to survive the bombing and falls in love with a young American, Ray.
The actress gained fame thanks to the series Stranger Things, where she played the role of a teenager named Eleven.
