Russia’s oldest music company Firm Melodiya JSC will start releasing vinyl records again. About this reported Vedomosti, with reference to General Director Andrei Krichevsky.
Melodiya will open a record production facility in Novosibirsk. The publication explains that in August 2024, the company has already registered the legal entity JSC Novosibirsk Record Plant – Melodiya Firm in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, becoming its sole founder.
The total investment in the project will be about 150 million rubles. These will be used to purchase space for a factory, raw materials and equipment for creating records. The technical base of the plant, according to Krichevsky, will be the Hong Kong Allegro II production lines, which are supplied to Russia via Europe and China.
Melodiya’s general manager plans to put the facility into operation in spring 2025. It will release up to 100 thousand records a year.
