Investigators working on the case of “Friends” star Matthew Perry will also consider investigations into the overdose tragedies of rapper Mac Miller and singer Michael Jackson as they consider criminal charges. As for the fact that things will tie together, in question celebrity barrister Tre Lovell tells The Sun.
Matthew Perry, 54, was found unconscious in the pool at his Los Angeles home and could not be revived. An autopsy determined the actor’s health was impaired by the use of the drug ketamine, which caused the heart attack.
Lovell said investigators may be interested in doctors who may have given Perry a secret prescription, drug dealers who may have sold him ketamine illegally and friends or associates who facilitated the illegal deal.
Lovell compared Perry’s investigation to the investigations of Michael Jackson and Mac Miller, and warned that a doctor who might have prescribed the drug to the actor, such as Michael Jackson’s doctor Conrad Murray, could face a lengthy prison sentence.
The attorney added that some of the LAPD detectives working the Perry case also investigated Mac Miller’s overdose. During the Miller investigation, three men were charged with supplying drugs to the rapper, and two of the defendants were sentenced to 17 and 11 years in prison, respectively, for distributing fentanyl.
