Russians called Vernon Dursley from the Harry Potter series of books by J.K. Rowling the main skuf in literature, representatives of the Litre and LiveLib services told socialbites.ca.
Liters and LiveLib conducted a survey among users and found out which literary characters are more suitable than others for typical representatives of such meme genres as alts, masics, hits and skufts.
The main contender was Harry Potter’s uncle Vernon Dursley. He was chosen by 20% of those surveyed. This type is characterized by conservatism, disorganization and impulsiveness. Besides Dursley, the top three included Ilya Oblomov from the novel of the same name by Ivan Goncharov and Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The most significant among the viols was Evgeny Bazarov from Ivan Turgenev’s novel “Fathers and Sons.” 23 percent of those polled voted for him. Altos are followers of a certain subculture or adhere to views on life that are not accepted in society. They often consider themselves “not like everyone else.” This type also includes Alexander Chatsky from Alexander Griboyedov’s “Woe from Wit”, Sherlock Holmes from Arthur Conan Doyle’s series of stories “Notes on Sherlock Holmes” and the Master from Mikhail Bulgakov’s “Master and Margarita”.
The main mask was Vladimir Lensky from Alexander Pushkin’s Eugene Onegin. This type is characterized by stability, care and respect for women. In second place is Mr. Darcy from Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, and in third place is Jay Gatsby from Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby.
Evgeny Onegin took the title of the main tube in literary history. He was chosen by 32% of respondents. Such men are the most romantically problematic. They are prone to manipulation. At the same time, the tubes themselves are insecure and emotionally unavailable. Among the users were Dorian Gray from Oscar Wilde’s “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and Anatoly Kuragin from Leo Tolstoy’s “War and Peace”.
Users named Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter book series as the main highlight. 22 percent voted for him. In second place is Heathcliff from Emily Bronte’s “Wuthering Heights” and in third place is Tyler Durden from Chuck Palahniuk’s “Fight Club.”
