Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to Britney Spears’ memoir “The Woman Inside Me” and is preparing to make a movie. An American newspaper reports this Variation.
According to the publication, the film will be directed by Jon M. Chu, who directed the documentary about singer Justin Bieber and Now You See Me 2, and produced by Marc Platt.
The singer’s memoirs were released in October 2023 and have sold more than 2.5 million copies in the United States alone. Universal won the rights to them at auction.
In the book, Spears recounts her rise to pop superstardom, from her days on the Mickey Mouse Club to her controversial conservatorship case. According to Variety, the book was incredibly honest and detailed her relationship with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake and his family.
Britney wrote on her page on the X social network that she was working on a secret project with Marc Platt, who, according to her, directed her favorite films.
