Actor Alexey Chadov told how he accidentally watched German erotic films with his grandmother during the program “Will Show”. The press service of the TNT TV channel reported this to socialbites.ca.
According to Chadov, his grandmother loved taking him to intellectual cinema during his childhood and once chose the German adaptation of the Strugatskys’ story “It’s Hard to Be a God” to watch with her grandchildren.
“And we went to ‘It’s Hard to Be a God’ and it was… hardcore erotica, the meanest. You should have heard my grandmother swearing,” the actor laughs.
A joint production of Germany, France, the USSR and Switzerland, the film “It’s Hard to Be a God” was released in 1989. Peter Fleischmann’s film surprised viewers with its abundance of erotic scenes and was not appreciated by the Strugatskys, who demanded that the film be shot by a Soviet director.
