A scene where a tragedy occurs during a rehearsal with a gunshot was completely removed from the movie “Rust,” the publication reports People citing an insider.
“They cut the church scene and rewrote it a bit. It’s a great movie. It looks like a big studio,” the source stressed.
During the filming of Rust in 2021, Baldwin fired a gun loaded with live ammunition instead of blanks during a rehearsal. As a result, cameraman Galina Hutchins and director Joel Sousa were injured. The stage manager was released from the hospital a few hours later, but Hutchins’ life could not be saved.
Western production resumes in spring 2023. Director Joel Sousa is back to helm the project, with Hutchins’ widow Matthew serving as executive producer. Cinematographer Bianca Klein (“Marseille, Shell in Boots”) is also attached to work on “Rust.”
On July 13, a US court dropped a criminal case against actor Alec Baldwin over an incident on the set of Rust. Previously, a jury had found Hannah Gutierrez-Reid guilty of the shooting. She was a weapons expert.
Previous attempt stopped Kirkorov’s case against Zhigalova.
