Mallard was diagnosed with essential tremors at age 14 after noticing a slight tremor in her limbs when she moved. The artist admitted that he managed to hide the symptoms of the disease for a long time, but it began to progress.
“Making repetitive movements, like tearing things into pieces or breaking something, was the easiest and most effective way to hide the tremor,” the artist shared.
Mallard said that now both his hands, forearms and neck, and sometimes his voice, are shaking. For this reason, he may have to end his acting career. The actor noted that his tremors made it difficult for him to eat, exercise and play games on the console.
“There were times when I was lifting something at the gym and someone came up to me and asked if I was okay because the weight was shaking above my head. I had to explain that everything was okay, I was just shaking,” the actor said.
