Rapper Alisher Morgenstern (known as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) did not receive notification from the prosecutor’s office that a criminal case could be opened against him. Star lawyer Sergei Zhorin told socialbites.ca about this. He noted that the musician’s side may object to this decision if a lawsuit is filed.
“So far, no one has informed us officially. If a lawsuit is filed, we will decide on the objection after reading the decision. There is no official notification yet. We get all the information from the media,” said Zhorin.
Moscow prosecutor’s office on Monday launched Initiation of criminal proceedings against Alisher Morgenstern. The Ministry said that the artist was brought to administrative responsibility twice a year due to the absence of signs of a foreign agent in his posts on social networks, but he continued to spread untagged messages.
“The materials of the prosecutor’s office audit were sent to the investigative body to resolve the issue of criminal prosecution of Alisher Morgenstern under Part 2 of Art. The prosecutor’s office clarified Article 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Evasion of duties provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation in relation to foreign agents”).
