The opening of the exhibition “Russian Style: Steel” took place in Donetsk, where works created by contemporary artists on standard plates from army bulletproof vests were presented, the press service of the exhibition reported.
It is stated that many people were involved in the creation of the project. The works of both academics and award winners, as well as graffiti artists, are also exhibited. As the organizers of the exhibition stated, visitors will be able to feel themselves in the historical events that are happening right now.
“The uniqueness of the exhibition is not only that steel has become a material for creativity, but also that steel has become the personification of the stronghold of people ready to defend their Motherland and its values,” said Deputy Head of the Government of the DPR Larisa Tolstykina.
Anton Belikov, artist, philosopher and founder of the Russian Style and After the Icon projects, said that he sees the return of peaceful life in Donetsk.
“The important thing is for this city to return to normal life; that’s the whole point. “I am very happy that Donetsk has regained its status as a capital with cultural life,” he said.
As the curator of the “Russian Style: Steel” project, artist Svetlana Cheprova, emphasizes, this project truly unites and touches people’s hearts through art.
“Today, our hearts are here in Donbass,” he added.
Let us remind you that the exhibition “Russian Style: Steel” was presented at the forum-exhibition “Russia” in Moscow, as well as in Krasnodar, Anapa and other cities of the country.
