People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Mashkov believes that meeting with the Sovremennik group was “fruitful and sensual.” His words are quoted “Channel Five”.
“They looked at me very carefully. And I studied my colleagues carefully. I know many of them, I even worked with some of them, so this theater has always been very close to me,” said the new director of the theatre.
Mashkov shared that during the meeting, he talked about himself to people who did not know him before. According to the artist, he also told the actors about the goals and objectives facing the troupe and the theater as a whole.
7 June recognizedMashkov became the director of the Sovremennik Theatre. Later commenting on his appointment, the artist said that the case of Galina Volchek and Oleg Efremov should continue.
“I knew how much strength and love these great people gave to the theater, so they should continue their work, live where their feelings were born,” said Tabakerka’s artistic director.
Mashkov recalled how Volchek supported him when Oleg Tabakov passed away. The actor and former artistic director said that Sovremennik was always with him, gave master classes to his students and could talk about theater for hours. She stated that despite Volchek’s departure, he will always remain in her life.
