Comedian and singer Semyon Slepakov (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) appealed against the refusal to revoke his foreign agent status. This was reported by RIA News With reference to the press service of the General Judicial Court of the Second Supreme Court of Appeals.
The court registered Slepakov’s appeal. The date of the meeting is not yet known.
The Ministry of Justice added Slepakov to the list of foreign agents on April 14, 2023. The ministry claimed that Slepakov received support from foreign sources, opposed the military operation, “displayed a negative attitude towards military service and the civil service in general, and spoke negatively towards citizens of the Russian Federation.”
Slepakov’s representatives deny that the comedian has received foreign funding. May 15 artist filed A lawsuit was filed against the Russian Ministry of Justice, demanding the removal of their foreign agent status.
June 2 Moscow Zamoskvoretsky Court denied Slepakov is in a lawsuit seeking to revoke his foreign agent status. The judge took into consideration the allegations of the Ministry of Justice.
Semyon Slepakov moved to Israel with his family in 2022 and announced that he no longer planned to return to Russia.
Previously Maxim Galkin (known as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) filed an appeal with the court on the grounds of a foreign agency.
