Theater and film actor, People’s Artist of Russia Sergei Sosnovsky died at the age of 67 after a serious illness. The Chekhov Moscow Art Theater announced this. telegram channel.
The theater expressed its condolences to Sosnovy’s wife Yulia, their children, relatives, as well as numerous friends and colleagues. The farewell date to the artist will be announced later.
“He was a dear person to each of us – his charm, spiritual generosity, openness and, of course, talent that we all bow to … Today is a rainy day for us and for everyone who knew Sergey Valentinovich ”, told the press service of the theater.
In 1993, the actor was awarded the title of Honored, and in 2004 – People’s Artist of Russia.
Sosnovsky has worked at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater since 2004 at the invitation of Oleg Tabakov. Some of Sosnovsky’s last works at the Art Theater were Shylock in The Merchant of Venice, Sumarokov and Lies in the Stalingrad Trenches, or Thomas Munchausen’s ex-servant in Baron Munchausen’s Testament.
