Picnic group published it on its website Youtube channel Requiem “For the Innocently Killed”, dedicated to the victims of the terrorist attack on Crocus City Hall.
“Where you touch the ground; A new ear is sprouting; The giant will notice you; And the blind man will recognize you,” says the composition.
This song was first released in 1994 on the sixth studio album of the band “Picnic”, “A Little Fire”. However, the timing of the composition was shorter at that time: The musicians accompanied the current version of the composition with a symbolic 40-second “minute of silence”.
The terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall occurred on March 22. Before the picnic group’s performance, gunmen entered the hall and opened fire on the audience. The Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case for a terrorist attack (Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Later Picnic leader Edmund Shklyarsky published Video message to families of terrorist attack victims. He described the tragedy as completely senseless and added that the language does not yet have words to console people who have lost loved ones.
“The only thing that can be said is a kind of calmness, but still the words that can revive have not yet been found,” the artist said.
Ex-husband of Anna Netrebko supported Russians in the background of the tragedy in Çiğdem.
