Russian President Vladimir Putin was presented with a painting dedicated to the children of Donbass. Reports about the gift of artist Alexey Kryukov RIA News.

Kryukov presented the painting “In Moments of Silence” to Putin during the presentation of the Presidential Prize for young cultural figures for 2023 and the Presidential Prize in literature and art for works for children and young people for 2023.

Kryukov, who received the award of young cultural figures for his contribution to the preservation and development of the traditions of the Russian realistic art school, announced that among the series of portraits of Donbass residents there is a separate cycle devoted specifically to children.

“The point is this: I saw it in Lugansk in 2016, I went there as a volunteer and artist, children’s drawings on asphalt with holes. “And that surprised and inspired me,” he admitted.

The artist added that the girl who drew the world and her parents on the asphalt became a symbol of hope for him.

“I ask that this be given to you. This kind of work is symbolic for me in many ways,” he concluded.
