Actress Sharon Stone has revealed which producer forced her to sleep with an actor for the sake of the film’s success. HE nail Page Six.
According to Stone, producer Robert Evans pressured her to have sex with actor William Baldwin during the filming of Sliver (1993).
The film says, “I’m walking around the office with sunglasses on and sleeping with Ava Gardner and saying I should sleep with Billy Baldwin because if I do that he’ll act better and we need to get him to play better because that’s a big deal.” The 66-year-old “Basic Instinct” star.
The producer was confident that there would be “chemistry” between the actors that would save the film. But Stone did not accept this. He regretted that the writers of the film did not listen to him and did not invite Michael Douglas, an actor with real talent, to play the main male role.
“You wouldn’t have to sleep with Michael Douglas. He would come to the set, do whatever was necessary, say his lines, and rehearse. And then it suddenly turned out that I had to sleep with someone,” says the actress.
Stone had already mentioned the situation in 2021 in his memoirs, but later did not name the film nor the names of the characters in the conflict.
“Sliver” earned $280 million at the box office; which is much less than the producers had planned. Evans passed away in 2019.
