Russian artists who left the country after the start of the special operation in Ukraine did not violate the law, so “there is no need to remove everyone.” In an interview about this kp.ru said Mikhail Shvydkoy, the Russian President’s special representative for international cultural cooperation.
He noted that the departing artists were all adults and knew what they were doing. But he said it was important to evaluate how these cultural figures behaved abroad in case they decided to return.
“There are only a few left, we just talk about them a lot. The vast majority live and work in Russia and are worried about their country. I cannot exaggerate the importance of the departed people, although I sincerely feel sorry for some of them, for example, Dmitry Krymov. Artists in general, especially those associated with words – writers, dramatic artists – should live in their homeland. Their fate abroad is dramatic. Despite all the visible successes, it is always a tragedy,” Shvydkoy said.
February 12, Shvydkoy reportedIt was stated that Crimean museums filed a lawsuit with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) regarding the transfer of Scythian gold to Ukraine. According to him, the case needs to be considered, but the museums have little chance of winning, although there is still some hope for a fair decision.
