According to Sberbank, which has signed a cooperation agreement with the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts, digitalization of exhibitions becomes an urgent need for museums, since the life of a modern person largely passes in the virtual space.

The document signed by the President, Sberbank Chairman German Gref and Museum Director Elizaveta Likhacheva states that Sberbank, together with its subsidiaries and partners, will assist in the development of the Russian museum.

The parties will work together to ensure that everyone with internet access has access to art and cultural treasures.

It is planned to implement projects to create a digital interactive copy of the museum and tours in augmented reality mode.

Under the agreement, special machine learning models and other artificial intelligence technologies will be developed that will be useful in solving the museum’s educational tasks.

“We hope to create art, excellent collections and the ability of Pushkin Museum specialists to collect the most unique exhibitions available to the maximum number of people in our country,” said Sberbank President German Gref.

The company’s president noted that “obstacles must be removed for art to reach millions.”

“Art needs to reach as many people as possible, especially young people. For this we need the most modern technologies. This is an opportunity to reach the younger generation. Young people don’t always go to the museum, so the museum should come to them. This is one of our areas of cooperation. We must go where our customers, our children and the next generation are,” said German Gref.

Museum director Elizaveta Likhacheva believes that modern technologies provide incredible opportunities for any museum.

He explained that we are talking about the digitalization of the collection, the use of huge databases, the emergence of non-existent methods and tools for scientific work and educational projects.

Likhacheva noted that digitizing the museum collection is a big task that no museum in the world has yet mastered, but the Pushkin Museum expects to tackle this task with the help of Sberbank.

One of Pushkin’s main tasks was the search for a language of communication with a new, young audience, with people who grew up in the world of digital technologies and did not always have the skills to communicate with traditional forms of art. Museum.
