The movie “Slave-2” became the second highest-grossing movie at the Russian box office. This was reported by TASS.
The box office revenue of “Slave-2” in Russia was 3.518 billion rubles. The film surpassed the first part of James Cameron’s Avatar. The first place at the domestic box office is occupied by Dmitry Dyachenko’s film “Cheburashka” with a total gross of 6.787 billion rubles.
On January 6, it became known that Klim Shipenko’s film “Kholop-2” collected 2 billion rubles at the box office in six days. Alexei Nazhny’s film “The Bremen Town Musicians” also became the leader in the Russian box office. The film adaptation of the cartoon of the same name collected 1,470,325,364 rubles in the first weekend.
January 15, film critic David Shneiderov explained The success of the film “Slave-2” is due to the lack of competition in Russian cinemas. He believes that the billion-dollar collection of “Slave-2” is achieved by the fact that there is currently no “decent movie” at the box office.
Shneiderov expressed the opinion that the success of the sequel can be explained by the success of the first part, as well as good PR and production work. The critic suggested that the third part of Klim Shipenko’s comedy is not far off.
Previously Milos Bikovich admitted that he sees “Slave” as a film about the salvation of the soul.
