Frank Farian (real name Frank Reuther), German musician and founder of disco band Boney M., died in Miami at the age of 82. TV channel is reporting this”BBC”

Farian was reported to have died at his home in Miami.

Farian was born in Germany and has been interested in music since his childhood. He became interested in rock and roll by imitating American soldiers serving in Germany, and in 1961 he founded his own band, Frankie Farian und die Schatten. The band rose to fame after a rock festival in Hamburg in 1964.

In 1975, as a producer, Farian created the disco group Boney M. from musicians born in the Caribbean. One of the band’s most famous songs is Rasputin. Farian has also created a number of other musical projects.
