What emotions do you feel about this very special 40th anniversary tour?

Without a doubt the best tour of our lives. We are celebrating our 40th anniversary of living through music at its best. So many emotions, singing and sharing beautiful songs that never get old, concerts filled every night with beautiful people from different generations, many children… The truth is that all we have are words of gratitude for these special moments, for everything we have. for what we have experienced and what we will experience.

The music industry isn’t ready to celebrate much. What is urgently needed for music professionals in this country?

As always, they see music as the most important cultural expression and receive the most support from the country’s public. Helping beginner children, arranging suitable venues for concerts… protecting this cultural heritage that we have, as well as cinema and theater… that is, they do this. something they never do.

Is life in Spain better today than it was 40 years ago?

It would be difficult to state, I believe there are always good and bad things and I don’t want to live looking back, we should always look forward. The best is yet to come.

Was there more freedom of expression in Spain 40 years ago than there is today?

There was freedom of expression, you could talk and write whatever you wanted, the people who were offended were usually stuffy and old-fashioned people, and people laughed at them. Now we get offended at everything, you can’t joke or laugh at the things we talk about, everyone believes their own opinion is important and gives their opinions even on subjects they don’t know about. It is true that all public figures have a certain fear of being crucified for expressing themselves and saying what we think; Public lynching is very fashionable. Not alarming, but boring.

To celebrate their long career, they remastered all their hits into a deluxe edition at Abbey Road studios. Hombres G started the fan phenomenon in this country, like the Beatles around the world. Do young people still enter G-Men locker rooms?

Yes, thank God. And guys, this is amazing. Now it surprises and loves us much more than when we were young.

Which song from the Beatles would you play?

All. Most of them are great.

For those who don’t know, there was always a punk spirit behind Hombres G. Am I wrong?

No, you’re not wrong. We started in ’83 with all the punk mania, we still love the bands from those interesting times, although we’ve evolved towards pop and started making songs with beautiful lyrics and melodies, but we love any song that conveys something to us, we don’t close the door to all genders as we believe it should.

You are the stars of Latin America. How are you experiencing what’s going on in Ecuador these days?

The truth is, with great concern. We artists have a very close and intimate relationship with the city, the people, the people, and we met some very nice people in Ecuador. We have great love for the country and hope that the violence will stop as soon as possible. The first condition for solving problems is to live in peace.

Every fashion goes out of fashion. Will reggaeton do this too?

Maybe I don’t know. I look a bit like that.

What price did Hombres G have to pay for independence?

You pay a price, that’s true. For a long time, we were subjected to very harsh criticism, we did not receive many awards, and the work we did, especially in our youth, was not appreciated. In the 80s, we played in stadiums with tens of thousands of spectators and sold millions of records, but we were not taken into consideration in our country. Jealousy, which is bad. Thank God, we always had a people who gave us energy and excitement with their support and continue to do so, and today we do not hold grudges against anyone, we feel very grateful and lucky for what we have achieved.

When you look back and look in the rearview mirror, what do you see in G Men earlier today?

Don’t think that we have changed a lot, we have gotten older, but we still enjoy it as much as before, even more. We don’t know what the ceiling is, something new continues to surprise us every day, our life continues as a magnificent madness.

How do you explain that Hombres G has never been broken?

It’s easy: we are very good friends, almost brothers. We love and respect each other and are in love with our job, our greatest gift in life.
