Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Vontov died at the age of 73. This was reported by representatives of the theater named after VF. Komissarzhevskaya “In contact”.
Cause of death unknown. Vontov has been working in the theater since 1977. There he played more than 80 roles. The theater company expressed its condolences to the actor’s family and friends. Farewell date and place will be announced separately.

Vontov is known for his role as Joseph Stalin in the films “Chapai with us”, “Zoya”, “It all started in Harbin” and “Stalin’s Diamonds”. In 2012 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
Vontov’s filmography includes more than 76 roles. He starred in the films “Gangster Petersburg 2: Lawyer”, “Major”, “The Last Journey of Sinbad”, “Big”, “Salyut-7”.
