Blogger David Manukyan (Dava) said that he was caught in a hurricane in Mauritius, which was flooded after Cyclone Belal. He reported this on his blog on Instagram (the owner of the company Meta is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia).
“Our island was completely flooded. We lived like hell for two days. It was the first time I encountered something like this, there was no place to escape,” he recalls.
According to Manukyan, hotels were aware of the approaching hurricane, but did not warn tourists about anything so as not to lose money.
“So we found ourselves in a powerful hurricane. We wanted to leave immediately, but this was not possible because all roads were flooded. That’s why we couldn’t keep in touch for a few days,” the blogger explained.
