Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki’s animated work “The Boy and the Bird” won a Golden Globe. The award was broadcast on CBS.
The cartoon won the “Best Animated Film” award. This is the first time in Golden Globe history that a Japanese participant won the award.
Among the nominees was the animated film “Suzume Closes the Doors” by Japanese director Makoto Shinkai. Disney’s “Elementary” and “The Cherished Wish” projects, “Spider-Man: Web of Universes” and “Super Mario Bros. at the Movies” were nominated for the best animated feature title.
