Director, screenwriter and cameraman Elena Demidova, author of “Alice in Wonderland”, “Touch of the Wind”, “Sasha, Lena and the Iron Dragon” and other films, passed away on January 4 at the age of 59. Demidova’s daughter Svetlana reported on social networks that on December 30, the director had an attack of vasculitis and her legs hurt badly.
“It’s still not finished. My mother was worried about the movie; she didn’t have time to be sick,” Svetlana noted.
The director’s daughter said that Elena Demidova was taken to the hospital in Vinogradova.
“Doctors didn’t like his legs and heart. “They took it from me and called me at five o’clock,” he added.
Demidov’s life over 59 years managed to get Training as an engineer, historian and director. In 2006 he graduated from the film school with the second specialization. After that, Demidova was a member of the Union of Cinematographers, as well as the Union of Film Directors of the Russian Federation and the Union of Non-Fiction Films.
His portfolio included cooperation with the M. Gorky Film Studio, the Kultura TV channel and the Finnish YLE TV channel. She chaired a documentary film workshop for young directors at the Women, Gorky Children and Youth Film Studio and a workshop for young documentarians at the Kinoproba film festival.
