Singer Paula Abdul, who served on the American Idol panel for eight years, filed a lawsuit against manager Nigel Lythgoe, accusing him of sexual assault. This was reported by Variation.

The artist claims that the first episode occurred while he was working on the first seasons of the television show. Lythgoe then pushed her against the elevator wall, touched her breasts and genitals, and also tried to “stick his tongue down the singer’s throat”. Abdul emphasizes that he tried to push the producer away: He ran out of the elevator as soon as the door opened.

For the second time, the singer agreed to come to the producer’s house while he was working on another program. In the lawsuit, Abdul emphasizes that he was hoping for a professional meeting because it had been years since the previous incident. However, Lythgoe “bent over her as she sat on the sofa.” He tried to kiss her and said they would make a great couple. The artist then pushed the man and ran away.
