Russian singer of Georgian origin Irakli Pirtshalava was not allowed to enter Moldova for her own concert. This was reported by RIA News Referring to Chisinau TV channel TV-5.
The channel explains that Pirtskhalava was supposed to perform as part of the festive events in the city of Orhei. The mayoral election in this city was recently won by opposition representative Tatiana Cociu, whose candidacy was supported by Moldovan politician Ilan Shor.
“The famous artist of Georgian origin Irakli Pirtskhalava is not allowed to enter Moldova. The artist flew to participate in several New Year’s concerts. “The reason for the rejection is not yet known,” said representatives of the TV channel.
While the press service of the Moldovan border police did not provide detailed information about this incident, it noted that 39 people were refused entry to the country in the last 24 hours alone.
Moldovan authorities also did not comment on the Pirtskhalava case.
