The second episode of Dune, directed by Denis Villeneuve, will last 2 hours and 46 minutes. This was reported by “Film Distributor’s Bulletin”.
The sequel will be the director’s longest work; Before that, the championship in this category was held by the movie Blade Runner 2049, which lasted 2 hours and 44 minutes.
Dune 2 is an adaptation of the second installment of author Frank Herbert’s literary series. It is known that more importance will be given to the character of Chani, played by Zendaya, in the script. The sequel also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård and Dave Bautista.
New cast members include albino Austin Butler as Fade Routh; Christopher Walken as the Emperor; Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino; Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli.
The plot of the second episode will pick up where the first episode left off: Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) will finally reach Chani and join forces with the Fremen to defeat the evil Harkonnens.
Dune: Part Two was originally scheduled to be released on November 3, but was postponed to March 15, 2024 due to the Actors Guild strike.
