Olga Lyubimova also emphasized the need for regions to modernize cultural facilities. Within the scope of the national “Culture” project, the reconstruction or major repair of 274 buildings of children’s art schools was carried out between 2022 and 2023. In addition, 610 art schools and colleges were given new musical instruments, equipment and educational materials.
The Minister also noted the successful construction, reconstruction and major repairs of 336 rural cultural centers in 68 regions. This year, the construction and renovation of 75 more such houses was completed.
In addition, in 2022, 103 movie theaters were modernized in settlements with a population of up to 500 thousand people in 50 regions of Russia. It is planned to open 94 more movie theaters in 38 regions of the country by December 25.
