Latina actress Rachel Zegler recalled the filming of the movie “West Side Story” directed by Steven Spielberg and talked about the director’s main instruction at the beginning of filming. His words were quoted yahoo.

“It was the first day of shooting and Steven Spielberg said: ‘Whatever you do, don’t blink.’ And imagine, they shine a light right in your face and you have to: a) not blink; b) don’t cry; c) stay alive, because this is your first day in the first movie of your career,” the actor said.

Zegler also joked that he won a Golden Globe Award for his performance in West Side Story because he had “eyes of steel.”

The film adaptation of the legendary Broadway musical by Steven Spielberg premiered in 2021. The film was nominated for seven Oscars and won three Golden Globe Awards. It stars debutante Rachel Zegler in the title role. Ansel Elgort, star of “Baby Driver” and “The Goldfinch” movies, also stars in the movie. The film’s script was created by Tony Kushner (“Munich,” “Lincoln”).
