Actor Gosha Kutsenko admitted in an interview with TV presenter Svetlana Bondarchuk that he is addicted to sleeping pills.
Kutsenko said that he had been using sleeping pills for the last 5 years. According to the star, this drug was created for the effective work of truck drivers and pilots. Initially, the actor took the drug in small doses and combined it with alcohol. The artist explained that his dose started to increase gradually. This was because he started drinking more alcohol.
“It grows to two and a half to three tablets. And there is alcohol. It’s still scary there. You took the pill, I’m going to bed. And then: “Lord, did I drink it or not? I don’t think I drink. Now I’m going to have another drink. Did you drink it now or not? I do not want to sleep. He probably didn’t drink.” And so the dose increases,” the actor shared.
Kutsenko decided to get rid of his addiction when he had apnea – the actor began to suffocate while sleeping. Because of this, the artist began to be afraid of sleep, so he was often awake. He recalled how he had not slept for a week and abandoned the project due to his deteriorating health. As a result, the artist went to the hospital, where, in his words, “all hell broke loose.”
Kutsenko had to relearn how to sleep, visit neurologists, and take antidepressants and antipsychotics. As it turned out, the sleeping pill was a very powerful sedative.
“I thought I had been in the sport for five years and was active and clean. NO! “I was on the strongest sedative and jumped around like someone on high for three months,” the actor said.
Kutsenko added that he continued to drink alcohol even while using antidepressants. He later developed vertigo (severe dizziness).
“When I was young they called this a ‘helicopter’, and this is a helicopter that was shot down. And which one falls. Scary!” – the artist recalled.
Kutsenko initially did not realize that he was experiencing dizziness due to the medications. He assumed he had a tumor and was very scared. Then she realized what the problem was and stopped taking the pills. However, he continued to drink alcohol.
“I’m thinking of getting myself together. And doctors want me to do this,” said the artist.
