The historical drama “1993” will be released on November 23. Representatives of the online cinema KION reported this to socialbites.ca.

“1993” is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name by author Sergei Shargunov. The plot focuses on the family of physicist Viktor Bryantsev (Evgeniy Tsyganov), who developed the lunar rover, but became a layer of sewer pipes in the new Russia. His wife, Elena, works alongside him as a dispatcher and dreams of starting her own business.

A family of emergency service workers raising a teenage daughter find themselves on opposite sides of the barricades during the riots in Moscow in the fall of 1993. The disagreement over Elena’s decision to exchange a Moscow apartment for a wooden hut, next to which a successful family lives, adds tension to relations between the spouses.

The director of the film is Alexander Veledinsky. Cast: Evgeny Tsyganov (“Nina”, “Battle of Sevastopol”), Ekaterina Vilkova (“The Last Hero: The Root of Evil”, “It Happens to People”), Alexander Robak (“Bullfinch”, “House Arrest”), Maxim Lagashkin ( “Impersonal Life”, “Arrhythmia”) and Alexandra Rebenok (“A Good Man”, “Capercaillie”).
